Marie Van Hemelryck
Posted by Joseph C. Quantrille <jcquant@yahoo.com> on Thu, 11 Feb 2010, in response to van hemelrycks, posted by john Hennessey on Fri, 04 Sep 2009
Greetings John Hennessy; My mother, Florence Bowen, was born in Bladensburg, Maryland, October 01, 1911. She had a sister Thelma, born 1908, and a brother, ROLLINS L BOWEN born in 1902. As my mothers family was split up when she was about one year old, and none of the children stayed together, it wan't until she was much older that she learned she had a brother. I remember her telling me he was a Merchant Marine. I just recently found information where he sailed on two ships, the LAPLAND, and the PITTSBURGH, from New York to Antwerp, and back again. He was apparently a cook on these liners and made more trips than the ones I've found for 1925. It is my understanding that ROLLINS BOWEN married a MARIE VAN HEMELRYCK, in Antwerp, Belgium and had two children there; YVONNE, and ROLLINS JR. I have information on the Bowen side of the family. Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar. Thanks, JoeResponses
