I don't know if we are related, but I live in California and my grandfather Bernard came to the US in 1914 and his family followed in 1915, my grandmother Maria Ghislena (DeBleecker), uncle Marcel Eugeen and father Rogier Gabriel Alphons. They came from Herzele, Belgium. They returned to Belgium after WWI and returned to the US in 1921. My father remembered playing in a bombed out castle in Herzele, and when I went to Belgium in 1996 I saw the castle and obtained copies of both my father and uncle's birth certificates.
