Jesse Simerl

Your name looks familiar to me so we may have exchanged info before. I am descended through Jesse's son Samuel Dare Simerl. Samuel and family came west to Iowa and Missouri. Sister Syrena married David Poffenberger and moved to Greenup, Cumberland, IL, along with Francis and Anna Foreaker.

David Poffenberger died in 1856 and it is unknown what happended to Syrena Simerl Poffenberger and her children. I do know years later, son John H. Poffenberger was living in Butler Co., KS. a daughter, Eliza Jane Poffenberger married Silas Washington Simerl, her first cousin. They eventually moved to Colorado. Silas and Eliza Jane Simerl are my great great grandparents. Hope to hear from you.
