Sineath Family

Posted by Herbert H. Moore <hmoore6823@aol.com> on Fri, 26 Sep 2003, in response to Sineath, posted by Jean Webb on Sun, 02 Mar 2003

I have a book entitled The Sineath Family and Affiliated Family lineages by William Rudolph Bauer and printed by the R.L. Bryan Company in Columbia, SC dated 1970.

According to this author (who is married to a Sineath) the earliest records in SC spell the name: Sineth, Synith and Sinith. Also Siner, Signer and Sinoth. The federal census in Colleton District mention several spellings. The spelling - Sineath - is the one used after the time frame mentioned below.

The names go back to the middle 1700's.

If there is something specific you might want to know, contact me through my EMail.
