Maybe I knew them. My father was born in 1908 and had siblings Charles, Mary, Elizabeth, Hugh, Catherine, John, Leo and Alice. They were the children of Charles and Margaret who came to the US in 1910. Their first place of USA residence was the Village of Stonington Illinois. Having resided in the US for 5 continuous years, and having met other criteria of citizenship, Charles became a citizen persuant to law on March 10, 1915, Christian County Court, Taylorville, Illinois. Charles was a coal miner. They ultimately moved to Chicago and lived at 8149 S. Woodlawn.
My father Edward has noted that his father Charles was a "subject" of both Ireland and Great Britain.
I believe Charles (my grandfather) was born in Ireland but am not absolutely sure.
Charles and Margret were married in 1900 in Dalziel. Margaret's maiden name was Brannigan. My father was born 1908 in Motherwell, Scotland, Wellington Street.
The only living members of this generation are Leo and Alice.
I would certainly like to learn of a link between us, if there is one, and learn more about my grandparents Charles & Margaret. Please let me know.
