Matthew Hamilton
Posted by Tony Hart <mgtdfan@yahoo.com> on Sun, 27 Dec 2009, in response to Matthew Hamilton, posted by Muray Black on Fri, 27 Nov 2009
Matthew Hamilton had three children, Thomas born about 1835 in Port Underwood, Jane born about 1841 and Margaret born about 1843. All the children were baptised in Akaroa on 28 September 1845 by Rev Charles Creed. The record of Matthew's marriage and the baptism of the children can be found in Creed's journal in the Methodist archives, Latimer Square, Christchurch. I believe there is also a copy in the Hocken Library, Dunedin. Thomas married Julia Biggs in St Michael and All Angels Church, Christchurch on 17 September 1872 and they had seven children. You are probably descended from Lydia Gertrude Hamilton the sixth child. Lydia had hundreds of descendants and I have a detailed family tree for all Thomas' children except Lydia.Display message for printing | Print Entire Thread
