Van Zandt Texas Pennington Family
Posted by Julie <j_bmartin@hotmail.com> on Sun, 24 Jun 2007
Searching for information about Benjamin Franklin Pennington b. 1852 MS, Thomas Sidney Penningtonm b. 1849/1850 MS, Alonzo Charles Pennington b. 1854 MS. In 1880 these three men, possibly brothers were living next door to each other in Van Zandt county TX. These three possibly have a sister Melissa Pennington who md a James Clements. There may also be a James, N. Lucinda and a William Pennington b. 1866 MS.I need death information on Benjamin F. Pennington. Possible he died in 1906 and is buried w/o a grave marker somewhere...or maybe he left Van Zandt when his wife, Mary Vashti Towles/Toles died in 1902. Benjamin also went by a nickname Cap.
Alonzo Charles Pennington has a father listed as Willie on his death certificate. I'm sure this means William, but can't prove it. His full name may have been William Franklin Pennington born about 1814 in Alabama.
William is said to have served in the Confederate Army. I'm unable to locate where or when, without doubt. His wife's maiden name was supposedly Jackson.
Does any of this ring a bell or fit in with anyones notes?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
