Chorba was my Grandmother's last name. She was born in the Kingdom of Hungary or Austro-Hungarian Empire in a town called Nagykapos..."Gate Town" I think. This town is called Veľké Kapušany today, and is located in Slovakia. A large portion of southern Slovakia is of Hungarian ethnicity. She and her family were Hungarian, but I'm fairly sure that the name Chorba could be Serb, Hungarian, Turkic (central asian), Bulgarian, Turkic (Ottoman), you name it...Responses
