McGachy family

My great grandmother was Catherine McGachy born 9/7/1884 believed to be in Ireland. She married in 1909 Port Glasgow and on marriage cert parents stated as John McGachy and Annie Hamill (dcd) but on her death cert in 1969 parents are ststed as John McGachy and Rebecca Howell (both dcd). This has caused a bit of a mystery as we don't know about her life before she married. She lived in Port Glasgow from after 1901 cencus until her death.
