Looking for People Who Grew Up in the 22nd Street N.E. Area of Wash., D.C. off South Dakota Avenue

Posted by Audrey Cacanindin Smith <audreycsmith13@comcast.net> on Mon, 19 Jul 2010, in response to LOOKING FOR FATHER went to NMMI in 1976, posted by James on Mon, 12 Jul 2010

Hello There:

I am Audrey L. Cacanindin, by birth name, but after I married, I am going by the name of Audrey Cacanindin Smith.

I was raised in Washington, D.C. on 22nd Street, N.E., off of South Dakota Avenue and Monroe and Newton Streets.

I am seeking my friends and acquaintances for that time period when I attended schools at John Burroughs starting in 1957 and Taft Jr. High School starting in 1962-1963.

The reason for this message is that our mother has just passed on. Well, we just found it out in July of 2010, but she was passed away on October 4, 2007. She is buried at St. Carmel's in Baltimore, Maryland, and our family, the siblings of the Cacanindin's, would like to give her a funeral service.

We wish to have the date on September 4, 2007, but we will notify everyone of the actual date and time. It will occur somewhere around this date though.

If you remember Nellie Rose Cacanindin Angos Burns, our mother, please contact me at 301-534-7008 or email me at audreycsmith13@comcast.net.

We are especially seeking to hear from Gwendolyn Green and Karen Richardson. Their last names have probably changed by now, but our family was close to both of you when the siblings were children and teenagers.

Thank you all, if you get this message.
