The 'Gypsy' Simpsons

Found out today I'm related to Digger Stanley. My granddad was Walter Simpson, son of Walter Simpson (uncle of Digger). They assumed the name Simpson after Walter renounced being a gypsy and decided to settle down and become a civil servant. Interested to find out more from those who know. Family in and around London, Sussex and Essex.
