How I found my birth certificate, I'm adopted too

Posted by NATALIE <bauman@gotsky.com> on Fri, 06 Nov 2009, in response to I am looking for my biological family, posted by Tiffany Clontz on Sat, 14 Jun 2008

I live in Texas, I called the office of vital statistics in the capital of the state and requested my original birth certificate even though it had been removed from the county records and sealed in the state adoption records, but they changed the laws here and adoptees have the right to get a copy. Maybe your state or county does too, just go or call and ask, I'm sure they work with people like us all the time and they can help you. It's good to find out your origins, but don't expect a wonderful relationship to come from it because there is no bond there. If you find your birth parents, then join a service like Ancestry.com to find your family tree information. God bless you in your search. Natalie
