digger was my mothers uncle ,he was born in a caravan on mitcham common in surrey/kent, he could niether read nor write ,was a short cocky man as were his brothers,a great boxer won the lonsdale belt and was able to keep it.the first lonsdale belt made of 24 carat gold, he died at 44 years and was penniless.
he was my great uncle he was also a gypsy.
