Mom's Genealogy

Posted by Angella Martens <angmartens@gmail.com> on Tue, 22 Sep 2009, in response to Who's My Dad, posted by Greg on Wed, 01 Feb 2006

Hi there.

My Mom found out approx five years ago that her father was not her biological father. Although Calvin Swenson, was an awesome and caring man, after his death, one of her fifteen brothers and sisters told her that she is the only child in the family of an unnamed man. She has since confirmed through her mother(unwilling to answer)and, extended family that this is indeed a fact. After consulting her mother, who was reluctant to give a straight answer, I am writing this letter in hopes to find my mothers biological father. Since my mother was a young girl she has had problems with any type of anesthesia; whether it was at the dentist or during the 5 c-sections she's had. Most recently she has been diagnosed with severe nerve damage.

Through all of this, each doctor has asked: what is your family history? Unfortunately, she has not been able to answer this question, which is why I'm writing you.

Her mother, Shirley Lee Swenson, listed Deborah (my mother) as father unknown. Considering the times, I believe this information was intentionally omitted to save my grandmothers reputation. It is vital that I learn this information as it adversely effects her and the rest of her offspring if it is not uncovered. To conclude, if anyone out there knows how to access someones sealed adoption records (assuming this is what happened)it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sincerely,
Angella Martens
