Shauger

Hi, I have a little history on my family. I am busy presently so I will keep it brief for now. My ancestors came from Prussia as well, and settled in NJ mid 1700's (a few worked at Picatinny Arsenal). Some of the family stayed in NJ and others (my family) traveled the Erie canal and homestead in WI (Appleton & Black Creek). From there a group moved to MI. They actually set up a homestead on shore dune, now referred to as Shauger Hill. That property was taken over by the government and is Sleeping Bear National Park.

I came by this information in 1987 as I researched our roots. I have some pics of Shauger Hill from the park service. Also I have a document detailing the journey from NJ to MI which is 50 plus pages.

My grandfather is Melvin and my father Dean and both are deceased.

BTW I reside on LI, NY
