Losee, Losey name origin
Posted by Richard Fulton <richardfulton@hotmail.com> on Sat, 13 Jun 2009, in response to losse family, posted by paul on Thu, 31 Mar 2005
I am not a member of this family but ran across the surnames Losee and Losey in some research on surnames I am doing. Just a thought, but it might be that the original meaning of Losee or Losey (which both appear to come from the same origins) might be THE BIRD from the French Le oiseau. Oiseau means Bird in French.Loiseau is the 293rd most common surname in France centered today in the west of France and the NE of France near the border of Belgium.
