Garzia

Posted by Billy Jones <billyjones@coastalnet.com> on Fri, 19 Oct 2001

I am searching for information concerning Captain John Garzia and family, who spent his early childhood in NC in the early 18th century. He moved to RI where he served as Captain and Paymaster in Col.Robert Eliot's Rhode Island Regiment during the revolution. One source describes him as a privateer. I think his wife was Esther Thomas and that he had a daughter Anne who married Edward Weeden of E. Greenwich, RI. The 1790 census lists him as living in E. Greenich Town and living with 6 female relatives.
