Nova Lubovna

Posted by Jarka <jarka@shaw.ca> on Tue, 03 Feb 2009, in response to Konkoly, posted by elaine newhouse on Wed, 04 Jul 2001

Hello,
I was born in Nova Lubovna. My family is still there. Accidently I found the website below. I found birth records of my Grandmother and Grandfather in it.

There are more than one Konkol family in Nova Lubovna. Some not even related to each other. Because it is all translated from Latin, but also because Slovakia was under Hungarian and German ruling, the names may differ somewhat. You should be looking under:
Konkol(today's Slovak version), Konkoly (Hungarian version), and Konkolovsky(Polish).

Nova Lubovna is now 700 years old and the first settlers in that area were Polish and Germans.

Anyway, hope that helps. Good luck in your search!
