where does my last name come from?

hi. my dad recently died and i have his last name. i would like to know the origin of my last name so that way i can be proud and carry my fathers name, but i want to know where it comes from so i can say what i am. :) my last name is VANCA. NOT vance, VANCA. :) thank you sooo much. it would be greatly appreciated if you e-mail me with the answer.
