The last name Ferguson

Mr. Ferguson,
I'm sorry, but, I just began thinking about geneology, so I really don't have any idea what specific questions to ask you other than what I already asked. Maybe I should try to do some geneology research myself? Could you recommend a site or place to start? What is the meaning behind your Ferguson clan's coat of arms that you favor it over the others? How long did it take you to trace your family name back to 1645? It sounds like the search has been very enjoyable to you. I don't have alot of online time, but I'd be happy to learn what I can. Thank you for responding and offering to share information.
