Meaning of RIDDHISHA

Posted by Dhananjay Vijayrao Sevalkar <dvsevalkar@gmail.com> on Sun, 16 Mar 2008

We (I & my spouse "Snehal") kept the name of our Ist daughter as "RIDDHISHA" on 29.08.2002. The basic meanings of this name are as follows:

1. Goddess of Knowledge (Riddhi ~ it means Goddess Saraswati, especially lot of respect for her in Hindu culture)

2. The suffix as “SHA” has been added for additional advantage to give modern style for girl as it is also connected with I…i.e.ISHA and its meaning is "beautiful woman" (i.e. Hebrew origin and it is said that it is very lucky for them)

3. Overall meaning comes as “a beautiful girl with lot of knowledge” that means brain & beauty together.

Trust the above clarifies the meaning for new parents.
