Dorothy Van Engle

Dorothy Van Engle was my grandmother. I was her FIRST BORN grandchild. She had 2 sons, Herbert and Marc. Her son, Herbert was my father. Herbert & my mother met in college and were college sweethearts. They married shortly after graduation. Herbert decided to have an affair because he did not approve of my mother's level of education or drive to be a successful businesswoman. He preferred to have a wife at home with kids. Because of this he elected to cheat with a woman who worked for him and due to a pregnancy married her, as I have been told. She was alledgedly far beneath my family socially and economically and my grandmother was very displeased with this behavior. However, in any event upon learning she was pregnant, my father ran off with her and post divorce, married again. Let it be known that they maintained a household of deception and sin until the divorce. Furthermore, let it be known that no court ordered child support or alimony was EVER paid = not 1 dime. Herbert subsequently bore 2 sons w/the woman and they have since divorced. I am the first granchild of Dorothy Van Engle and while the "other family" has a problem with my existence, let it be known that I was conceived through the love of a marriage that was broken apart by many factors. Regardless of that, Dorothy Van Engle had 3 grandchildren, NOT 2 as mentioned.Display message for printing | Print Entire Thread
