Who's My Dad

I will be 50 this year and since my mother's passing that I do not know who my Father is. How do I begin researching the new information I have been given from extended family? I was born in March 1956 in Colorado Springs. My father was stationed at Fort Carson, my mother was employed as a waitress in a club that is suppose to still exist in Colorado Springs?! Anyone with any suggestions on where to begin, would be appreciated. Respectfully, GPC
