Cortes or Cortez

Posted by Harry Stein <SteinHE@aol.com> on Sat, 14 Jan 2006, in response to meaning of cortez, posted by Jaron Cortez on Fri, 01 Jul 2005

My name is Harry Stein. I am the webmaster of he site Sephardim.com mentioned as the source of information. The suffix es or ez does not equal eres Zion or eres Sion. These suffizes simply mean son of in Spanish and Portuguese. The name may be Sephardic in origin because because of the references provided for this name on my site.

You are invited to visit my site at www.sephardim.com.

You will find there more than 30,000 names referenced as Sephardic and the references that indicate that origin.

Again, neither es nor ez are indicators of Sephardic ancestry.

Harry
