It sounds like Flanders was the origin with dissemination to Scotland and Ireland. I was told at one time there was a connection to royals, but cannot find evidence one way or another. My name is spelled with one "m" (Fleming) and have been in the states for 100 years. Any thoughts on where to go from here?
