grandmother's native american heritage

Our family is rapidly shrinking, and finding out about our history has become difficult. All we know is my grandmother (Mary Frances Johnson (Stuart/Young) was adopted. She was born May 6, 1905. Her adopted parents were Baxter and Frances Johnson. We have been told that she was a native American. She married Robert Lee Stuart (a black man). If you could give me just a shred of information, my family would be so grateful.ThankYou, Paula Davis
