Meaning of name

Posted by Carson Culver <stbarnabsa@MWT.NET> on Wed, 15 Jun 2005, in response to what does my last name mean?, posted by carson culver on Wed, 18 Feb 2004

The surname Culver is usually related to the Anglo_saxon "culfre" meaning dove or pigeon. Early settler Edward Colver spelled his name with an "o" and the actual origin may be Celtic either Maca Uloor(Ulver) meaning Wolf's Son or col-iver meaning bent arrow.
