Hi

The Shaw name origionated in various lacation in the northern areas of Great Briton. It means the people living by the wood and is seen as Shaw Shawe Schaw and Schawe. There is a Scottish clan Shaw which is part of the Clan Chattan. Their motto is Fide et Fortitudine. (By fidelity and fortitude). The family crest is a hand holding a dagger upwards.
The English Shaw's come mostly from the Lancashhire area. Their family sheild is three golden goblets on a blue background.

Cheers
