Chawner clan

Posted by Mick Chawner <mick.chawner@sympatico.ca> on Tue, 04 Jan 2005, in response to I'm a Chawner too!, posted by Daniel Chawner on Mon, 03 Jan 2005

Hi,
I am from not far away in Ontario.
From the contacts I have had it seems that the Chawners origniated in Yorkshire England, move south into the Stoke on Trent and Birminham area and then a small group move to Ireland but they didn't stay. Some move to Australia and some to the US about the turn of the century.
My family all come from Birmingham and Stoke on Trent but I have heard from small groups of Chawners all over England.
The biggest group seems to be in Birmingham and Stoke On Trent, literally hundreds of them.
HOw big is your group?
Mick
