Meaning
Posted by Nishant on Sat, 25 Dec 2004, in response to Meaning of NISHANT, posted by Nishant on Wed, 18 Aug 2004
Hi,'Nisha' means night or darkness, and can also be understood figuratively as ignorance or unreal. 'Ant' means end of. Therefore, Nishant can have two meanings:
1) End of the night: dawn, sunrise.
2) Self-realization: End of ignorance, end of the transient and unreal to the permanent and real.
Personally, I feel the second meaning holds more substance given our short life-spans.
Thanks,
Nishant
