AS FAR AS I'M AWARE,THE SURNAME THELWELL COMES FROM THE NORTH CHESHIRE AREA AND IS OLD ENGLISH FOR "A BROKEN BRIDGE BY A POOL" OR DERRIVATIVES OF THE PHRASE BUT THERE IS ALSO REFERENCE IN SCOTLAND WITH A COAT OF ARMS WITH THREE BOARS HEADS WITH BIRDS IN EACH.CHECK OUT REFERENCES IN JAMAICA AS WLL.SOMEONE WAS PUTTING IT ABOUT.Responses
