putnam origion

Posted by R-prime` <RoboRitchie@yahoo.ca> on Mon, 06 Sep 2004, in response to where do i find a pic of my family creast?, posted by Jim Putnam on Mon, 24 May 2004

well this is humorous, i stumbled upon this looking for something else and found the topic of interest.

i have some putnam in my blood, they arrived in salem MA, in the early 1630's. now should you find yourself able to link your name to the hutchinsons of salem they can be traced back to 1100ad and before that is the legend of the norwegian knight Uitchenes who served harold of norway to help william the conquerer of normany bring deafeat upon the danes who ruled england, by slaying harold king of england. this was the battle of yorkshire and hastings in 1066ad.

anyways here are some urls to our family crest ...

i did a google search named : ' coat of arms - putnam '
