*Mink* Native American Last Name?

For the last 50 years my family has believed we are from all German decendants. Recently my grandfather found a picture of his grandmother (my great-great grandma) and she looked Native American, but claimed to be German. Her husband (my great-great grandfather) met her in Germany during the war in the middle 1800s. At that time period no one questioned her nationality. All I know is that her last name was Mink. Does anyone know if Mink is Native American last name?
