where's my dad?

I'm nearly 13 and i want to find my dad. I haven't spoken to him for about 5 years and I don't even know if he's alive. my mum never speaks about him and i don't know if he pays child support or even if mum know s anything about him. I just want to know where he is and if i could get his number so i could call him and get to know the one that brought me into this world but left when i was 3.
if you could help me find him then that would be great bbecause i think of him everyday.
