getting a status card

Hello, my name is Amy and i was wondering how much native you have to have in you to get your status card? I think i am 1/16 and i heard that was enough. One of my grandpa's parents were Sew (i don't know how to spell it)and i was told i am eligable to get it. If i am i was wondering if you can send me information on how to get this card. Even if my grandpa doesn't have a card or my mom. But i can send my grandpa papers or information on how to get this for me and he will. So thank you for your time and i would appreciate a detailed response answering all my questions.
