Nationality of Ancalade

I was always told it was French growing up. The only other possibility is Spanish. I have Ancalade ancestors that I am told came from France, but at the same time I have an Encalade ancestor that was Spanish. Names not much different, so one could've came from the other. Either French or Spanish though
