Shimek's origin

Posted by Stanislaw Shimek-Warzeszak <swar@uksw.edu.pl> on Sat, 27 Sep 2003, in response to More Shimeks, posted by Brian Keith Shimek on Wed, 23 Oct 2002

Hello to you Virginia, and everybody who might be interested in the Shimek's fasmily.
I would like to explain, that there are at least 2 roots of Shimek's family in the USA but going to the same root of Shimek's family in Lipnica Mala in Orava situated on the Polish/Slovak border.
1. There was Joseph Shimek (born August 28, 1864) who left for America in the 1880-1890.
2. There was Joseph Shimek (born August 1, 1892) who left for America at the bieginning of the XX s. He was killed by the fire. He left 2 children: Johana (or John) and Margaret. His wife was (probably) Maria Kott (died 1975).
Both are related: oncle and nephew.
For more information, don't hesitate to ask me again.
