Father's family

I live in California. My father whom i've never met lives in Idaho. His name is Gary Beaver. His parents, Rose and Faye Beaver resided in California before their deaths. I would like to learn more about their Indian heritage. I believe its Cherokee, but what kind I don't know. Or where their from. If anyone can help me, please respond.
