Murtagh a rare Surname ??

Posted by Chris Murtagh <chrismur88@yahoo.co.uk> on Sun, 15 Aug 2010, in response to I am a murtagh to! <3, posted by Mae Murtagh on Mon, 12 Feb 2007

"Hello Mae", I am Chris Murtagh - I posted a message on this site almost a Year ago - to try and find out about my Grandparents Murtaghs from Co. Clare in Ireland.

Your message `hints` that you may think - as I once did that
Murtagh is a `rare` surname - I once entered it into a `browser` on a Computer belonging to an American that I was socialising with - and it produced 388.000 `hits`!
Unfortunately I don`t know what `browser` he was using.

Also one of my Cousins went to Boston [USA] where he found
`Murtagh` coffee mugs on sale in the Souvenir shops - thinking this VERY strange he enquired - to be told there are probably THOUSANDS of Murtagh` in the USA ! - we sell out of these mugs on a regular basis.

I think that our Surname is `rarer` in Ireland/UK than it is in the USA ! !

"Regards", Chris Murtagh.

P.S. This website has disrupted/split up the paragraphs that I typed - I noticed this when previewing.
