MURTAGH FAMILY
Posted by Chris Murtagh <chrismur88@yahoo.co.uk> on Sun, 15 Aug 2010, in response to Murtagh, posted by Helen Fitzgerald on Sat, 14 Aug 2010
"Hello Helen", I am Chris Murtagh - I think that you responded to my `Post` regarding the Murtagh Family from Co. Clare in Ireland - "Thanks for replying".There IS a possibility that we are related - the problem is
I have not been able to find out ANY information on my own
Grandparents - let alone any other `branch` of the Family.
I don`t know how many brothers and sisters my Grandparents had - probably a few - but at the end of the -1890s
and start of the 1900`s there was a lot of emigration and
early deaths - at young ages.
The siblings of my Grandparents could have `settled` anywhere, in Ireland, England or U.S.A. ??
I have no way of knowing whether WE could be related - for some reason I cannot even find the Birth Registration for my Grandparents - even though as far as I know both were born in the area where the raised their Family, I have also tried the surrounding `Parishes` and Counties.
I must say that I have found the various `Ancestry Websites`
absolutely useless - in researching Ireland/Irish Family records !
I have no recollection of the Christian names that you mention - from conversations with my older Family members in the past - although here are many Irish Families with a `Patrick` including mine - but the `timescale` does not fit
for him to be who you named.
Sorry that I cannot be more `positive` Helen - If you would like to reply to me - please do, "Regards", Chris.
P.S. The website has `disrupted`/split upthe paragraphs of
my Post here - it is NOT how I typed it in.
