Clifford meaning

Posted by Elizabeth Anderson <eanderson12@snet.net> on Thu, 27 Jul 2006, in response to clifford what does it mean, posted by paul on Sun, 19 Oct 2003

When my father, James Clifford, was alive. He told me that it meant lawyer of the country. I am not sure where he got that from. He, also, said that Clifford is actually an English name. Even though his father, Daniel Clifford, came from Ireland.
