try to find my dad

i know he was in the army in 1973 with royol corps of transport. he was posted at chilwell barricks on 21 aug 1973,which was in nottingham. i think he was based at salisbury plains. his name was either john williams or john williamson, he would be about 54 to 57 years of age now, at the time he would be about 20 to 23 ......thank you
