Posted by Lance Mehlhorn <rlmloan@yahoo.com> on Wed, 19 Apr 2006, in response to What does my last name mean?, posted by Chriastian on Tue, 03 May 2005

Hi my last name is Mehlhorn. I have spoken to several people from Germany. They told me the first part of the name MEHL means mill or meal like flour. I have also read that it means dirt or mud. the horn part is supposed to mean corner, strength, power. The word horn in the bible have a similiar meaning of power, strength. I hope this helps i had wondered also for a long time so i did some research and this is what i came up with. I hope it helps.
