Mike McTigue the Boxer

There is a possibility that my Mother Catherine Francis Jackson nee Cunningham born in 1903 at Ennis Co.Clare could be a distant relation to Mr. McTigue. I can remember her talking about him and a contemporary of his, one Battling Siki who I think came from Senegal,West Africa.
Her parents were named John and Catherine. I am intrigued.
Any help please?
