Briggs lineage

Posted by Ken Briggs <ktbriggs@hotmail.com> on Sun, 15 Jan 2006, in response to I hope you get lucky!, posted by Frances Morris (Briggs) on Wed, 20 Jul 2005

Hi Frances: I am Kiersten's Dad. I have found it easy to trace my Mom's Family, the Taylors, who were well ensconced in Virginia at the time of the 1700 census. The Briggs clan are more difficult. My grandfather, Norman Briggs, died in San Francisco in 1933. Best I can tell, his family was from the deep south (alabama, at least). My Dad, Darwin Briggs (a 4th generation Californian) used to tell us that his family arrived on the 2nd or 3rd ship after Mayflower, around 1630. documentation is hard to come by. Cheers! Kenneth Taylor Briggs
