Cafferkey's from Mayo

Posted by Irene <irenecafferty@freenet.co.uk> on Sun, 08 May 2005, in response to whereabouts of family origins, posted by John-Paul Cafferkey on Sat, 07 May 2005

Hello John, I'm convinced that our family are from either Mayo or Roscommon as I know that the name is very common there. I have had three searches done in Ireland, one in Mayo and two in Roscommon, but nothing has come back definite. I now need to find the baptism of John Cafferky c 1854/56 son of Patrick Cafferky and Bridget? and possibly Mary Mulrennan/Mulrenal c. 1850 daughter of Thomas and Maryl Mulrennan/Mulrenal. If I could find these two baptisms I would have something concrete to go on, or possibly just finding the name Mulrennan/Mulrenal would suggest I was looking in the right county. Have you come across the name Mulrennan/Mulrenal in your research at all?
