Karen Ciccone's HARLANDS
Posted by Carole <caroleb@hunterlink.net.au> on Fri, 15 Apr 2005, in response to Harland family, posted by Karen Ciccone on Sun, 10 Apr 2005
Dear KarenBy the look fo your e-mail you live in Australia - I live in NSW Aus.
"Lumley" rings a bell in my memory for the HARLANDs. My Great Great Grandfather,Thomas, was born in Wingate, Co Durham and had a George for a brother. Their parents were Thomas HARLAND and Mary BAINBRIDGE. Both Thomas and George migrated to Aus via QLD in the 1870s, with their small families, but the families grew with time!
My Thomas married Dorothy SIMPSON, who resided at Spennymoor at the time of the marriage.
Are you allowed to contact me via e-mail personally? I think your JANE may have been one of the Birth certificates that I was interested in buying, thinking she was a sister to Thomas and George, but no I think perhaps a frist cousin? Interesting!.
I look forward to hearing from you as I HAVE actually found more HARLAND relatives in Newcastle NSW where Thomas and George actually settled and stayed, raising a family, marrying them off and dying.
I cannot remember what I wrote in my first message as it did not save.
Sincerely ...... Carole
