Dineen/Deneen Family Cork/Kerry

Elaine,

Thanks, unfortunately my parents are both gone a while. I am 51. But my father's (John Patrick Dineen's) brother and sister (Cornelius and Veronica Dineen) are still alive. They grew up in the South Bronx, but my father moved to Queens, Neil moved to Hartsdale NY, and Veronica moved further up in the Bronx. Neil married, Veronica didn't, and neither had children, but my father John Patrick more than made up for it by having eight.

My father's father (Cornelius Dineen) married Julia Morrow, daughter of Henry Morrow and Eleanor Campbell. Julia had a sister Viola, who married Richard Love. Cornelius was one of four children of our immigrant John Patric Dineen, the other three being Michael (d. 1966), Mary (d. 1970), and John (d. 1960).

I don't know any of the Dineens from Ozone Park, but that's not surprising, they would have been third cousins of my relatives I think, and no reason they should even know one another. (I recently discovered a third cousin on my mother's side from this or another website who lives in Northern Ireland).

I'll keep thinking about how to pursue this further. Thanks for all your helpful information.
