Matthew, you are being so helpful to me, and I think if we are related in some way it's because of the Luck of the Irish, that I found you on St. Patrick's Day. I really have no idea how to go about all this research. I just knew I wanted to try and just got on my computer and started searching and asking questions. I only started this about two weeks ago and have never done anything like this before. Anyway, to answer some of your questions, My grandmother married Frances Dineen and had one son Bill. Frances was my grandfather William's brother. William hadn't even met Edna when Frances and she were married. Because, William was overseas fighting in WW1, meanwhile Frances died from a fall, and when William got home from the service he went to meet my grandma Edna and his newphew Bill. I guess they liked each other because Edna then married William Dineen, they had eight children together, I think I already told you that. I sent you a couple of messages, maybe you only got one. My Grandmother Edna Dineen did have a family Bible, but it burned up in a house fire and there went all the family records. I don't why but my mother doesn't even know anything about her mother's family. But, I will try and get a hold of some of my older aunts and see if they have any information. I do have the burial plot it is: section 50 Plot 2 Graves 17 and 18. My mother thinks that is where Patrick's son Frances and Patrick's wife Mary? are buried. I hope this will be helpfu to you. My mother said when Patrick died and they went down to the city for the funeral there were Dineen's attending that she didn't know. But, thought they were relatives of her grandfather. Patrick died at Meadowbrook Hospital and his funeral was at A. Castka/Bellmore Funeral Home. He was living in Merrick, his address was 423 Frankel Blvd. I don't know if that helps you or not. When my mother was a teenager her father William and mother Edna and all the children moved to Tupper Lake, New York. Health problems of my grandfather. So, they really lost touch with anyone they could have gotten information from. I don't know if any of my aunt's or uncle's ever tried to pursue finding family, but I want to know so I am doing it. I was born in Ilion, New York where I still live, so does my mother Eleanor and my brother Earl. I also have one sister Susan and she lives in Buffalo, New York. My father passed away in 1992. My mother meet him in Tupper Lake where his family lived they married in 1947. I really do not know anything about NYC. I only went their once when I was young, my Aunt Marion and Uncle Jim McKenna lived there at the time, I can find out though, because I really don't know where they lived. Maybe if we find out some more and if we are related in some way we can e-mail each other. I am married and have three grown and married children and have five grandchildren. I sure would love to give them this gift of knowing who they came from. If I succeed with the Dineen family, I will then try the Baker's that was my maiden name. Thank you MatthewResponses
