looking for information about Patrick Dineen
Posted by Elaine Billings <ebbb1147@aol.com> on Thu, 17 Mar 2005, in response to Dineen/Deneen Family Cork/Kerry, posted by Matthew on Sat, 06 Mar 2004
I just found this web site. I too am looking for information. I hope this isn't just a coincidence, but my Great-grandfather was Patrick Dineen. His Baptisms record shows that he was baptised in the town of Ardert, co. of Kerry, Ireland. His father's name was Daniel Dineen and his mother's name was Catherine Reardon. His sponsor's for his baptism were: John Dineen and Mary Reardon. The parish is called St.Brendan's, the Diocese is Ardfert and Aghadoe. Patrick was born on March 4, 1867 and was baptised on March 14, 1867. The minister was John Murphy cc this baptism paper was dated Dec.2, 1933.It's hard for me to make out the name of town but it looks like East Hammond. I hope this sheds some light and we can find out about our Irish relatives. Some other information: my great-grandfather Patrick became a naturalized citizen on October 12,1891 by the county court of kings county, at Brooklyn, n.y. His first marriage ended when his wife died in 1918 we think it was from the flu that killed millions of people and we know her first name was Mary and last name started with a C we think, They had three sons: William Dineen was my grandfather and he had two brother's Frances, and Charles. We do not know when Patrick came to USA or what port he arrived at. But, at one time he lived in Merrick, N.Y. and worked for the the city of n.y. department of sanitation. Patrick died in September 1961,he was 95 years old.Responses
